Hsueh-Ping Chu

I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, National Taiwan University. I received my Ph.D. in 2009 from Rutgers University, USA, and subsequently completed my postdoctoral training at Harvard University. My laboratory focuses on the functions of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), particularly in telomeric repeat-containing RNA (TERRA). We take an RNA-centric approach to study the interactions among ncRNAs, proteins, and the genome. Our research explores the roles of TERRA in epigenetic regulation, telomere maintenance, cancer, aging, and human disease. The long-term goal is to develop therapeutic strategies targeting ncRNAs for the treatment of human diseases.
